"So, what on Earth is this??" you may think. :D
Well, It's my entry for the Haloween Competition on Hetalia Fans group (hetaliafans.deviantart.com/jou…).

The Festival's name is Dziady ( which meant "the ancestors" or "the Grandfathers" in Polish ) and it used to be celebrated mostly in Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus, (some people passionate about the Slavic culture celebrate it today as well) so I decided to include them all in my drawing. During the feast the souls of the dead were believed to come back to their former homes, seeking way to achieve peaceful afterlife. People organised ritual meals to "feed" them and to gain their favour. It was celebrated twice a year: In spring, at the beginning of May, and In autumn, at the end of October ( just before the Christian All Souls' Day). The festival was an inspiration to one of the greatest Polish poet, Adam Mickiewicz, and it's the topic of his poetic drama "Dziady Part II ". You can find more information here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dziady (Im sorry, but I couldn't find any other english source ;-; ).

Just as I read the prompt I imagined Poland having a fabulous idea to summon the souls of the dead :psychotic: and  feed them. I have no Idea why the others agreed to participate, but now they really regret it :fear:

It took riduculously long to make, because it was my first attemp to paint digitally ( without using outlines ;-; ), but I'm happy that I did it anyway :D

Good luck to everyone entering the competition! ( hetaliafans.deviantart.com/gal… The works posted there are AMAZING *_* , make sure to check them out, if you haven't ).
